Project Coordinator


Wolfram, maker of Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha, is searching for a proactive individual with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills for a project coordinator position located in Champaign, Illinois. The project coordinator will be responsible for managing a broad range of activities associated with the Wolfram website and prerelease of products. This position requires project management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to interface with our technical and product development teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment and has an enthusiasm for new technologies.


  • Assist project leads to create and maintain project plans
  • Proactively manage the execution of project plans for multiple projects
  • Create and maintain roadmaps with input from project stakeholders
  • Help create and maintain requirement lists
  • Monitor the status, risks, and resources for the entire lifecycle of projects
  • Create and maintain tickets with appropriate deadlines, watchers, and details needed to execute projects
  • Set-up development sprints
  • Identify, convey, and track project milestones
  • Prepare agendas for meetings and lead the meetings as needed
  • Collect detailed notes from meetings with discussion details, decisions made, next steps, and action items
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the company
  • Establish, document, and improve internal processes
  • Maintain projects pages and dashboards
  • Monitor performance (project metrics)


  • Degree in a business, marketing, or technical field
  • Experience in project or product management and software or web-based tools for project management
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and interact with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • High degree of initiative and excellent communication skills
  • Experience with software or web project management is a plus
  • Experience with Mathematica or other technical or scientific software a plus
