Quality Assurance Engineer (User Interface QA)

Position Overview:

Wolfram is searching for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Mathematica QA Department. This positions focus is on our User Interface, specializing in developing, improving and maintaining automated and manual test systems. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies to produce great products. Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and prove software quality assurance procedures and tools
  • Review features to determine testing approach and create comprehensive software quality assurance test plans
  • Participate in test planning and estimation, in coordination with the SQA manager and developers
  • Interact with developers to assure the testing requirements are clear and the test plan is thorough
  • Develop, evaluate and recommend manual and automated test tools, techniques and methodologies
  • Update and supplement existing test cases by comprehensively testing new features added as part of Frontend technology
  • Check for the quality of new Front End features through regression analysis of existing tests
  • File, verify and close bugs found during testing or during the regression analysis phase
  • Assist during release cycles by providing software build verification for release candidates
  • Assist technical support by answering specific questions as and when required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • Programming languages: C, C++
  • Good communication skills, fluent verbally and articulate

Skills Desired:

  • Preferred programming languages: Mathematica, Java, Python
  • Experience in Source Control systems such as CVS, GIT, STASH
  • Experience in working in Workbench/Eclipse or other IDE development tools
  • Experience in using project tracking tools such as JIRA or similar tools
  • Experience in software development cycle and testing methodologies
