User Experience Designer (E-Commerce and Subscriptions)

The Wolfram User Experience Team is looking for a talented User Experience Designer to help create amazing, personalized experiences for people who are purchasing and using our software. As we launch new products and enhance existing offerings in the Wolfram Cloud and in Wolfram|Alpha, we need a UX Designer who can plan seamless transactional experiences, and work with stakeholders, designers, and developers to bring his/her vision to fruition.


  • Design innovative user flows and elegant interactions for complex e-commerce transactions and user account management systems across a variety of platforms (desktop, tablet, mobile, and more)
  • Translate user needs and business requirements into clear, detailed specifications
  • Analyze user tasks and research new trends in interaction design
  • Create flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
  • Facilitate team brainstorming and lead design reviews
  • Collaborate with developers and visual designers
  • Conduct usability tests and analyze user feedback
  • Use metrics and research to inform design/UX optimization efforts


  • At least two years of experience in designing interactions for e-commerce transactions and/or user account management systems
  • Passion for simple, engaging, and intuitive design
  • Team player with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and a critical eye for visual design
  • Ability to work with multiple projects and balance multiple priorities
  • Experience with user experience research methods and usability testing
  • Degree in human computer interaction, information science, computer science, product design, psychology, sociology, or related field
  • A solid portfolio of user experience deliverables (please supply URL or upload with application)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in using OmniGraffle, Axure, or other prototyping tools
  • Experience in using Mathematica or Wolfram|Alpha is a plus
