Higher Education Council of Honduras

The Higher Education Council of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) is the highest governing body of the higher education system in Honduras. It is composed of representatives from UNAH, rectors from other higher education institutions and the Director of the Higher Education Directorate. Among its main functions are the formulation of educational policies and the approval of new educational institutions and academic programs, as well as the supervision and evaluation of educational quality in the country. The Higher Education Council ensures that institutions maintain high standards of academic excellence and promotes the continuous improvement of the educational system.

The Higher Education Council works collaboratively with various universities and educational centers to promote innovation and academic development. It is also responsible for coordinating efforts for the internationalization of higher education, encouraging exchanges and collaborations with foreign institutions. Its decisions and policies are fundamental for the advancement and strengthening of the national educational system, ensuring that it remains aligned with the country's needs and global trends in higher education.
