Mathematica 4 Wins 1999 Eddy Award
January 5, 2000--Mathematica 4 has been awarded the Macworld Editors' Choice
(Eddy) Award for 1999 in the category of Best Science/Engineering Software.
Macworld presents the Eddy Awards annually to recognize "the products that
improve the lives of Mac users--products that make using your Mac easier, let
you do your job more effectively, or simply give you freedom you never had
before." Previous versions of Mathematica also won the 1989 and 1997 Editors'
To be nominated for an Eddy Award, a product must have been released in the
past year and must have achieved a four-mouse or higher score in Macworld's
product-rating system. In a review in the October issue of Macworld,
Mathematica 4 received a score of five mice, the highest possible. In the
award citation, Macworld said, "...in its latest upgrade--the
