Laura Sainz

Laura Sainz began to use Mathematica in 2010 as a medical student pursuing a physics degree at the Complutense University of Madrid. She wished to improve her mathematical background to model natural phenomena of biological systems, specifically focused on the physiology of the nervous system. After graduating in medicine in 2012, she became a resident in neurosurgery at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz Hospital of Madrid, where she currently does research on mathematical models of brain functions, is about to graduate in physics, and also works as a neurosurgeon.

Sainz served for two years as an instructor of clinical neurophysiology within a language disorders master’s degree program at the Complutense University of Madrid. She has experience preparing presentations, lecture notes, quizzes, and tests and enjoys teaching as a complement to her professional and academic activities.
