Lilia Del Riego Senior
Dr. Del Riego has used Mathematica in both teaching and research, as a means to explore and experiment. In fact, one of the theorems Dr. Del Riego proved came from a differential equation related to numeric geodesics that could be analyzed graphically with Mathematica.
Dr. Del Riego has been a part of the Mexican mathematical community since the 1970s with appointments at the Institution of Mathematics at UNAM, the Department of Mathematics at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, and the Yucatán Center of Scientific Investigation before settling into the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, where she is a level VI Research Professor. Del Riego has taught courses in many subjects including linear algebra, algebra, differential geometry, calculus, mathematics for biology, and many other math-related topics. She is also a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI).
