Measure Fiber Thickness
Find the thickness distribution of fibers in an image.
Obtain the fiber edges with a directed Gabor filter every 9°.
Then shift that edge response toward the fiber center by a distance .
The product of opposing edges lights up when the radius of the fiber and shift coincide. Sample from 14 to 24 pixels in steps of 0.5 to probe the fiber radii.
Create a mask to restrict radius measurements to the medial fiber axes.
Extract along the medial fiber axes the values with the highest filter response.
Collect all measurements in a data list.
Display the radii count in a histogram.
