FAQ

Who are Daily Study Groups for?

Daily Study Groups are for high-school and college students, parents, educators, professionals and researchers looking for supplemental academic and professional resources, or anyone interested in learning new skills.

How does certification work?

Daily Study Group participants demonstrate engagement by attending or watching daily sessions, taking part in discussions and passing auto-graded quizzes. A certificate of program completion is awarded after the Daily Study Group ends and quiz scores are recorded. Each qualified participant will receive a personalized and sharable Wolfram certificate. Some Study Groups include additional opportunities for Level 1 certification, and all Study Groups provide helpful guidance for making progress in building your Wolfram Language skills and learning computational topics.

Do I need to already know how to use Wolfram Language?

Not at all. The Study Groups start with the basics, and newcomers can join any session 15 minutes early for some extra help. Links to recorded sessions are available for review or for catching up.

What do I need in order to participate?

A computer, a reliable internet connection and the willingness to learn and participate in an online group setting. Participants submit questions by typing in a Q&A window and are not invited to turn on webcams or their microphones. Participants are encouraged to have access to Mathematica or Wolfram|One.

Is there a fee to participate?

No! Wolfram Daily Study Groups are a completely free resource, including free access to the Wolfram Cloud.

What will I learn?

Working with Wolfram technology will encourage you to think computationally—how to leverage the power of computing technology and foundational programming—and not just for mathematics or computer science classes! The ideas and concepts you will learn are useful across subjects and curricula.

What if I need to miss a session?

Daily Study Group participants receive email notifications that include links to further resources and session recordings, so you can always catch up on any session you miss. You can join any session 15 minutes before the start time to get extra help and ask questions, and group review time is scheduled on Fridays. (If you miss any sessions earlier in the week, then Friday is a good day to show up.) You can also check the Wolfram Community thread for the study group you are attending to ask questions and read responses.

Are other topics available?

Watch this Daily Study Groups page for the addition of new Study Groups that range from basic to advanced topics. Archived Study Groups can be found in the Wolfram U catalog. Please contact us if you would like to request a specific topic.
